Coming with Public Bus
From Managua (Bus Terminal: Mercato Oriental) to El Tránsito: MONDAY to SATURDAY
DIRECT BUS: Mercato Oriental bus terminal (7 Calle Sureste, Managua) 11:30 AM, 12:30 AM, 2:20 PM (takes 1h45 to 2h30 to El Tránsito)
Sunday: 11:30 AM
Ask the driver to drop you at the PALAPA HOSTEL
Mercato Israel bus terminal: 12 PM, 1 PM, 2:50 PM (takes 1h45 to 2h15 to El Transito)
Managua-Leon Bus (carratera Vieja only): There is a bus approximatively every hour, ask the driver “El Transito, KM 44 (Kilometro quaranta quatro)”. Then follow once dropped >
From Leon (central bus station): Bus to Managua (carratera Vieja) ask the driver or show him “El Transito, KM 44 (Kilometro quaranta quatro)”. Then follow once dropped >
When arriving in El Transito, ask the bus to drop you at the stadium (Estadio de basebol)
Once dropped at KM 44 >
There is 12 km of dust road. depending on the timing, there is different options:
12:30 pm to 3 pm: The direct bus from Managua can pick you.
ON SUNDAY there is only 1 bus, it pass around 12:30 pm
Around 4 – 4:30 pm : there is a small bus 12-16 people max that makes the trip.
Otherwise… you need to hitch hike or call us to let us try to send you someone.
Leaving with Public Bus
From El Transito to Managua
Monday – Saturday : 5 AM, 6 AM, 7 AM (takes 2h to 2h30 to terminal)
Sunday: 6 AM
From El Transito to Léon: Take the public bus leaving to Managua and ask to get dropped at KM44. Cross the road and wait the public bus, they are all going to Léon.
